Dave Johnston Named Inaugural Boys Volleyball Coach

Dave Johnston has been named the inaugural boys volleyball coach at Mountain Ridge High School.  He has coached many years at the club, high school, and collegiate levels.

Dave attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where he played on the Ricks Club volleyball team.  He transferred to BYU where he was the captain of the first NCAA division 1 sanctioned team at the school.  He later attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, California where he earned a master's degree in sport sciences.  He served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and the men's volleyball assistant coach.

Before landing at Mountain Ridge he coached two different club teams, the Dixie College women's team and the women's team at Snow Canyon High School. Last year, as an assistant to Bryan Nicholson, the Mountain Ridge women's team made it to the 6A state finals in only their 4th year.  He continues to teach summer volleyball camps and is looking forward to continuing to build a culture of excellence at Mountain Ridge.
