Pinkies Up: AP Lit Students Master Victorian Etiquette and Oscar Wilde

Literary analysis took a sophisticated turn this week inside Ms. Sirrine’s AP Literature classroom. To conclude their study of Oscar Wilde’s famous satire, students including Cameron Richardson and Zoe Hall participated in an in-class Victorian tea party. By practicing period-accurate etiquette, the students gained a firsthand look at the social constraints and wit Wilde famously mocked in his writing.

By "living" the text, students develop a deeper perspective on the cultural nuances of the era. AP Literature offers students the chance to master university-level critical thinking and earn valuable college credit.

Looking Ahead: While registration for next year is not yet open, this is a course incoming Juniors and Seniors should keep on their radar. If you want a class that blends academic rigor with creative exploration, keep AP Lit in mind for your 2026-2027 schedule!
