sen·ti·nel (noun): A soldier or guard whose job is to stand and keep watch.
Today marks the beginning of National School Counseling Week (Feb 2–6). This year’s theme, "School Counselors Amplify Student Success," perfectly aligns with our mission at Mountain Ridge High School.
Our counselors are more than just academic advisors—they are the Sentinels of our students' potential. They stand the watch over the academic, social, and emotional development of every individual on campus. By providing a steady hand and a clear vision, they ensure that the "volume" on student achievement is turned all the way up.
Throughout this week, we will be highlighting the various ways our counseling team supports the Ridge. We invite parents, students, and staff to join us in recognizing the vital work they do to keep our students on the path to success.
How are you standing the watch? We challenge you to start the week by stopping by the Counseling Center or sending a quick note of appreciation to your counselor. Let’s make our gratitude as loud as the success they help create.
