Mountain Ridge High School is honored to announce that Kelsie Berrett has been named our Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Jordan Education Foundation.
While Kelsie leads one of the largest AP Social Studies programs in the district, her impact goes far beyond test scores. Known by her students as "the G.O.A.T.," Kelsie has a unique ability to make complex political issues real, relatable, and respectful. Her classroom is a safe harbor where every student has a voice, every position is backed by evidence, and every individual is pushed to reach their full potential.
A Leader Among Leaders Beyond the classroom, Kelsie serves as our Social Studies Department Chair and lead mentor for new teachers. Her colleagues describe her as an "inspiration" and a "master" of her craft. Administration notes that her mentoring program is arguably the best in the state, ensuring that new educators at The Ridge feel supported, balanced, and empowered.
Whether she is preparing students for a D.C. trip or helping a new teacher find their footing, Kelsie’s infectious passion for her subject and her peers is what makes Mountain Ridge a premier institution. Congratulations, Kelsie, on this well-deserved recognition!
