At Mountain Ridge High School, we believe that being multilingual is a superpower. This week, we are incredibly proud to recognize a group of dedicated Sentinels who have officially passed the WIDA English Language Proficiency assessment.
The WIDA test is a rigorous national standard that measures a student's ability to communicate effectively in academic settings—covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Passing this test isn't just about speaking English; it’s about mastering the complex language used in science, mathematics, social studies, and literature.
These students are already fluent in one or more other languages, and they have now proven advanced academic proficiency in English. Their hard work, resilience, and dedication to their education exemplify what it means to be Sentinel STRONG.
