The debate is over. Mountain Ridge High School is officially home to the best gamers in the country!
This afternoon, our elite Super Smash Bros. Esports team took the stage at the prestigious PlayVS Cup National Championship and completely dismantled the competition. Entering the grand finals after a historic season, the Sentinels finished the job with a stunning, flawless 3-0 sweep to capture the National Title.
This championship run was characterized by consistent, relentless domination from start to finish, leaving absolutely no doubt as to who rules the high school esports scene in the United States.
Beyond making history, our three incredible student-athletes—James Cox, Logan Dazley, and Teddy Cameron—each earned a massive $1,000 college scholarship for their victory!
A brand new National Championship Banner will soon hang proudly, and the National Trophy is on its way to the display cases here at The Ridge.
This historic milestone would not have been possible without the strategic brilliance of Coach Joel Marquez and Asst. Coach Jesse Mlaker, alongside the invaluable guidance and leadership of alumni player mentor Helaman Valle.
Thank you to all the students, parents, and faculty who packed the live stream chat to cheer our boys on. Celebrate hard tonight, boys—you are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Stay Sentinel STRONG!
